Bro. Al's Reading List 2013
From Februrary 24, 2013, Lifeline
OK. It’s time for Bro. Al’s book list. I think, rather than just list a long line of good books I enjoy reading, I’ll try to narrow things down to a few of the best.
In the area of personal growth and spirituality I always enjoy Leonard Sweet. Two of his latest are The Jesus Manifesto and Viral: How Social Networking is Poised to Ignite Revival (social media and the Kingdom). It’s a T.G.I.F. world—Twitter, Google, Instagram, Facebook) are well worth your consideration.
I always enjoy John Ortberg and his latest Who is this Man is no exception. I also recommend Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Revival.
Recent books on Spiritual Warfare are Charles H. Kraft, Defeating Dark Angels and Neil T. Anderson, The Bondage Breaker: the Next Step. Both are helpful.
I also try to read much in the area of leadership, for this subject I highly recommend Doris Kearns Goodwin, Team of Rivals (about President Lincoln); Hans Finzel, The Top Ten Mistakes Leaders Make; and Paul David Trip, Dangerous Calling.
Two excellent books on the Middle East are Blood Brother by Elias Chacour and Dreams and Visions by Tom Doyle.
Finally, I always enjoy good biographies and recommend Jon Meachem, Thomas Jefferson: the Art of Power.
In all your reading, ask God to grant you wisdom to temper your knowledge and never neglect the daily reading of God’s Word, the Book of Books.
In His love,
Sermon CDs are available for purchase (@ $3.00). CDs are available for checkout. Ask at the Library Desk.
