2 Timothy 2:13 states that even when we are faithless, God remains faithful. A Phil interpretation of that verse is that even when I spit in His face, He wipes it off and says to me that He will remain faithful. We as individuals and collectively, as the body of Christ and His church, are a blessed generation. Lamentations 3:22-23 says “The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” What a comfort to know that He truly has me. He won’t let go. He will be with me, never leaving or forsaking me.
As I was praying about where the service this Sunday needed to head, I was led in the direction of His faithfulness. The song “Great is Thy Faithfulness” was written back in the 19th century based on Lamentations 3:22-23. Contained in this song are several Scripture passages that sum up that our God is faithful. We are going to take a little time this Sunday morning talking and singing about the faithfulness and the mercy of the God we love and serve. We will also sing the Matt Redman song “Mercy”. Because of His faithfulness we sing “Glorious One” and “Glorious Day”. One day we will see Him face to face. We will see Him face to face. We will see Him face to face! No man until He has the awesome privilege to stand before the King of kings can say that he has seen God face to face. But face to face, we will behold His glory. WOW!!!! Mercy Me wrote a song several years ago called “I Can Only Imagine”. Although this song, in my opinion, has been so way overused, no one can deny the statement that as humans we can only imagine the true picture of what it will be like to stand before Him. No words can describe it!
Well…. those who read this blog every week know what I am about to say. Do your homework. Listen, absorb, and bask in His presence through these song for the next few days. See you Sunday
