I was raised in Northwest Arkansas. My family has been Christian as far back as I can trace. My Great Grandfather was a song Leader. For the first 13 years of my life we attended First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren, Arkansas. When I was 8 years old, I was saved at Vacation Bible School.
When I was 13 my parents decided to start attending First Baptist Church in Fort Smith Arkansas, just across the river. As I grew older I attended First Baptist Church in Van Buren, because I knew many more people. When I was 22 I started working with the Youth Ministry at church, and shortly after I started leading the youth at our mission church. I also helped with children, did some hospital visits with the Pastor, and served as a Deacon.
When I was around 30 I began to feel called into full time ministry. I talked to my Pastor, sought some wise counsel from several friends, tried to make a deal with God, and finally allowed Him full control of my life and my ministry…whatever that was going to be.
I moved to Fort Worth to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where received a Masters in Christian Education. I have been serving at Wedgwood in some capacity for 17 years. I joined as a member, became the Facilities Manager while attending Seminary, and after graduation I became the Minister to Adults. While serving in that role I was also Missions Minister for 10 years.
Currently I am the Minister of Administration, which is a job I love. I like dealing with facilities, working on the budget, insurance, it is a great way to spend my day. I also get to minister to people in various ways. I still teach in Adult Classes, visit hospitals, visit with the Pastor, meet with new members, and mentor Seminary Students. God has truly blessed me in allowing me to serve at Wedgwood. This is a great church family!
