Inside the Music

January 1 2018

Greetings and welcome to a new year of our life. As I reflect on 2017, I have to say it has been the most difficult year of ministry I have ever had. I quickly have to say that I have seen God touch lives in ways I have not previously experienced. I have literally watched God work miracles.

God is hammering over and over again in me of what my prayer for you, Wedgwood, and me personally is for 2018. “God, manifest Your presence to us”. Notice I didn’t say “in” us. I have watched as God has used individuals and Wedgwood over and over because of the manifesting of Himself in people. I am totally 100% convinced that the Lord wants to explode Himself in us and as a collective body of believers in a way Fort Worth has never seen. As Jesus told the disciples when they tried to cast out the demons… “this only comes by fasting and prayer”. We are great at talking about prayer, studying about prayer, and saying short prayers. I believe that in order to see God move through Wedgwood in an indescribable way, we must be devoted to asking God to do that.

Will you join me in taking a few minutes every day and getting on your face before God and simply asking Him to boldly manifest His presence to us?

This week in worship we begin the year with songs you know except for one. We will do the chorus of “Blessed Be Your Name”, “Open Up the Heavens”, “Everything and Nothing Less”, and “I Surrender All”. We have a new song that has actually been around for a while. It is Austin Stone’s version of “Jesus is Better”. Go on YouTube and pull this up. There are many good and great things that we can be doing, but when it is all said and done…Jesus is better. The offertory is a Sovereign Grace song titled “Show Us Christ.”

Okay see you Sunday. Don’t forget that we have a special Lord’s Supper Service at 6 p.m. this Sunday.

Love you,

pb
