About the Position

Average Preschool and Children’s SS attendance: 130 (not including 30-40 volunteers)

Average Preschool and Children’s Wednesday Night attendance: 105 (not including 30-40 volunteers)

Overview of Functions:

This position is responsible for the oversight and function of the Preschool and Children’s ministry of the church (birth-6th grade). The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of the ministries to the families of preschool and children.
  • Oversight of all preschool and children’s workers–both volunteers and paid staff.
  • Oversight of all Preschool and Children’s ministries on Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night.
  • Enlistment, development, and training of all paid staff and volunteers: Sunday School, Wednesday night activities, camps, mission projects, children’s events, etc.
  • Ensures children (birth-6th) are learning biblical truths and undergoing proper discipleship. This includes the selection and/or development of proper programs, teaching materials, curriculum, etc.



  • Exhibits character becoming of a follower of Christ and in accordance with the call to gospel ministry.
  • Demonstrates a discernable desire and ability to reach and disciple preschool and elementary-aged children, and their families.
  • Demonstrates a degree of skill and ability to communicate biblical truths to children of all ages.
  • Demonstrates administrative skills to lead and direct Preschool and Children’s ministry.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to follow the Lead Pastor’s vision and direction.
  • Has significant training and experience in and a call to Children’s Ministry.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to work with established volunteers and staff.
  • Has a willingness to serve on a team driven staff.
  • Has at least 3 years of experience in Children’s Ministry (preferred training in both Preschool and Children’s Ministry, but will consider someone with experience in only one).
  • Holds a Masters degree from a Seminary or a degree in a related field.
