Wedgwood Baptist Church Minister of Worship and Media
Short Description:
The Worship and Music Leadership role at Wedgwood Baptist Church involves overseeing the planning and evaluation of the worship ministry to align with the church's mission, vision, and values. This includes coordinating all congregational services, incorporating various arts, and directing a comprehensive music program, including choirs, Praise Teams, soloists, and worship band. The role involves working with the Creative Leadership Team, managing music selection, budgeting, and training staff and volunteers. Additionally, it includes working closely with tech staff to ensure smooth operation of services and supporting the band and other music ensembles. The position requires involvement in congregational care, supporting church community growth, and ensuring teamwork and alignment with church goals and pastoral authority.

Requirements:
- Exhibits Christ’s call to discipleship in Matthew 16:24-27.
- Exhibits Christ’s call to servant leadership in Luke 22:24-27.
- Proven record of effective leadership in music ministry.
- Enthusiastically supports the church’s mission, values, and ministries.
- Practices regular involvement in services, small groups, and church-wide events.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least three years of ministry experience in a local church/congregational setting.
- Master’s Degree preferred in relevant field
- Competency in choral direction and leading a contemporary worship band
- Experience with media production and management
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to train and equip staff and volunteers
- Ability to manage budgets effectively

Functions
Worship and Music Leadership
Objective: Leads an effective planning and evaluation that accomplishes the vision, mission, and values of Wedgwood Baptist Church
- Supervised by the Lead Pastor
- Plans in the implementation of Sunday morning congregational service and other various services of the church including but not limited to the music, and also incorporating other areas of the arts ministry (i.e. Worship choir, Praise Teams, soloists, band, drama, and various forms of media) when they will enhance the worship experience
- Works with the Creative Leadership Team in determining worship ministry goals, organization, and leadership of a vibrant worship ministry.
- Is responsible for the selection and/or approval of music in all services including weddings, funerals, and other areas of ministry at Wedgwood Baptist Church
- Prepares and recommends annual worship and media ministry budgets, and administers the approved budgets
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor
- Oversees the media ministry and coordinates needs for services in and outside of the worship center including Missional Community meeting rooms and CLC
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor
Objective: Equips, educates, and trains paid staff and volunteers
- Enlists, selects, and trains vocalists and all musicians who serve in the worship ministry
- Coordinates with student leadership to assist in the student area
- Keeps informed on current music methods, materials, promotion, and administration

- Conducts congregational care visits (hospital, nursing homes, homebound, etc.)
- Works alongside the entire staff to build community in and outside of Wedgwood Baptist Church

Work Schedule
- Will consist of at least 40 hours per week.
- Choir rehearsal, band and media rehearsal, and Sunday morning service
- Time off will be allowed for the purpose of attending conventions, conferences, and mission opportunities as outlined in the Human Resource Policy & Procedure Handbook.
- Job performance will be reviewed at least annually by Supervisor, and the results presented to the Elders and HRC
- The employee shall have paid vacation, sick leave, and other leaves of absence as outlined in the Human Resource Policy & Procedure Handbook
Compensation:
- Compensation shall seek to reflect the industry’s average tenure and performance. A business expense allowance is included
- The employee shall have paid vacation, sick leave, and other leaves of absence as outlined in the Human Resource Policy & Procedure Handbook
- The church provides medical insurance for the employee and an amount for retirement equal to 10% of the employee’s base salary. An employee may opt to use the retirement benefit dollars to offset the cost of dependent healthcare.
- A life insurance policy of 1 times (1x) base salary is provided, as well as group long-term disability coverage
