Timeless Series: Week 2

BIG IDEA: We Can Seek God Any Time

MAIN PASSAGE: Isaiah 1:1 - 1:20

REMEMBER VERSE:

FAITH MOMENTS: This week, we’ll hear how God’s message to the prophet Isaiah showed people that their acts of worship were more like empty routines. Isaiah reminded them that loving God wasn’t about just going through the motions but rather daily actions because we can seek God at any time.

  • What was the message God sent to the people through Isaiah?

  • Isaiah 1:17 says, “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.” This is what God truly wanted from the people and not their burnt offerings. How does this still apply to our family?

  • What does “seeking God” mean to your family?

  • Where is one place you normally don’t seek God?

  • How could we start seeking God in a new way rather than the normal ways we are accustomed to?

  • How could our family worship God by doing good, seeking justice, correcting oppression, bringing justice to the fatherless, or pleading for the widow’s case?
